Lovers of train travel will no doubt already be aware of the Travelski Express direct service from London St Pancras to the French Tarentaise. You can find all the details of this service elsewhere on Ski Flight Free, including Iain’s review of the inaugural service in January 2022.
However, it recently came to our attention that there is also a direct Travelski charter train that operates from Paris to Modane. This means that you could take advantage of some of the packages available from Travelski (so including train travel from Paris, accommodation, lift pass and transfers) and combine it with a Eurostar from the UK to Paris.
The timings are not perfect for single day connections, but you could combine it with a stay in Paris either on the way out or the way back, depending on your date of travel.
The big advantage is that this a train to Modane in the Maurienne valley opening up resorts such as Orelle, Val Cenis and Valloire, which have not previous been accessible on the Travelski packages.
