SkiStar, the largest ski resort operator in Scandinavia is expanding its fleet of electric snowmobiles.

The company has teamed up with Taiga, who provided electric snowmobiles for a trial at the resort of Sälen in Sweden in 2022.

“In addition to using the machines for ski patrol and other mountain operations, we will be offering our guests a more sustainable and eco-friendly experience.” Stefan Sjöstrand, CEO SkiStar

Net Zero goal for 2030

Taiga’s ‘Nomad’ snowmobiles are part of SkiStar’s goal to have a net-zero climate impact by 2030. They will be used at resorts including such as Idre Fjäll, BranäsGruppen and Hemavan Alpint.

The Nomad has a range of up to 100km, and is able to tow up to 511kg. It can be fully charged in up to three hours on a 220V charger or to 80% in about 40 minutes on a Fast Charger.
