The Morzine chalet company run by British couple Al and Kat Judge has officially achieved B Corp™ Certification.
This makes them one of the very few chalet operators worldwide to hold this globally recognised standard for social and environmental impact.
AliKats was founded more than a decade ago and run 16 luxury chalets in Morzine. They have a reputation as one of the most sustainable operators in the French Alps.
They have featured on The Ski Podcast several times, including in Episode 160, which focussed on ski companies taking sustainability seriously. Certification provides an independent benchmark for the positive changes AliKats has been driving for years and marks a major milestone in their mission to donate or invest €1 million in protecting the planet by 2035.

What is a B Corp?
In case you’re not familiar with B Corp, these are ‘Certified B Corporations’ that are verified by the nonprofit B Lab as meeting high standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.
The process is rigorous, covering five key areas: Governance, Workers, Community, Environment, and Customers.
Sustainability is key
Measures that AliKats have incorporated into their holidays include:
- Five years of zero food waste across all chalets
- Becoming a ‘Société à Mission’, embedding social and environmental responsibility
- All permanent staff give at least one day per month to local, environmental causes
- Free electric car charging is available at all chalets for guests
- 100% renewable energy powers every chalet
- Responsible hot tub initiative reduces water and energy use
- Over €17k has been donated via the Sustainable Mountain Future Fund
- Up to 20% discount for guests arriving by train
Beyond just chalets
AliKats’ influence extends beyond its own properties. The business helped found Montagne Verte, a non-profit association driving sustainable change across the Haute Chablais region.
Montagne Verte have featured on The Ski Podcast several times. Initiatives have included include Morzine’s first bio-waste scheme, the AlpinExpress Pass (rewarding train travellers with resort discounts), and a charity shop selling and repairing second-hand mountain gear.
