Despite a challenging first season, Travelski Express have confirmed that they will be continuing their direct train service from London to France for the 2022/23 winter season.
Due to engineering works, the outbound train will continue to depart on Friday evening, arriving Saturday morning, with the return train leaving on Sunday morning, arriving back into London on Sunday afternoon.
There are two exceptions to this scheduling: in the festive period, the train will depart on Friday 23 December (return 31 Dec) and 30 December (return 07 Jan) going outbound overnight, then returning the following Saturday by day, allowing skiers to arrive in time for Christmas Eve and New Years’ Eve. Skiers over New Year week will benefit from an 8 Day lift pass at no extra cost.
New timings planned for 23/24 based on customer feedback
A shift in scheduling is planned for winter 2023/24. Guillaume de Marcillac, CEO of Travelski said:
“We have listened to their feedback and hope to switch the train timings to a daytime service at the start of the holiday, rather than at the end. They will…still have the longer ski period that is one of the many advantages of taking the direct train.”
Having experienced the Travelski Express overnight last season, we can confirm that it’s pretty hard to get a good night’s sleep even in ‘Premier’ class. Indeed many travellers chose to lie under the seats instead. This option gives travellers the chance to catch up with any missed sleep at home, rather than going straight into a day’s skiing.
New Destinations
The resorts of Val Thorens, Courchevel and La Rosiere have also been added to the Travelski programme for this winter, brining the number of resorts on offer up to ten.
