French ski resort Les Sybelles have confirmed that they will be using only 100% renewable electricity this season for operating its lifts and snow-making facilities.

The certified renewable electricity will come from local hydroelectric generation, as well as solar and wind power sources. The power is provided as part of an agreement with EDF.

The resort in the Maurienne valley has 70 lifts and more than 300km of pistes.

Other ski areas that also use 100% renewable electricity include the Paradiski region (including Les Arcs and La Plagne). Their fully-certified power has been in operation since 2012.

The Grand Massif ski area (including Flaine and Les Carroz) has also been using 100% renewable electricity since 2016.
