A new night service from Brussels to Milan will offer skiers and snowboarders a fantastic new rail route to ski resorts in the Alps.
From September 2026, European Sleeper will launch their new overnight service linking Brussels with Milan. It will run three times a week and pass through the heart of Switzerland offering access to many superb Swiss ski resorts.
Sleep your way to the Alps
British skiers can take the Eurostar to Brussels, connecting to an early evening departure, meaning you can leave London after lunch and wake up in the Alps. The train travels overnight through Germany before reaching Switzerland the following morning, continuing on to Italy by late morning.
The journey costs from €49.99 in each direction.

Swiss ski resorts now within easy reach
What makes this route particularly exciting is some of the ski destinations that this route makes accessible. The route connects into Switzerland’s famously efficient rail network, meaning resorts not directly on the line are straightforward to reach.
Some of the key resorts accessible include:
- Andermatt (from Goeschenen)
- St Anton & Tirol (from Zurich)
- Arosa (from Zurich)
- Engelberg (from Zurich)
A more sustainable way to ski
As well as the adventure of travelling by train, there huge advantage is the negligible carbon cost of travelling, compared with flying to a ski holiday.
